I have recently been put through the wringer trying to order some door cards for a 63 1/2 Falcon Sprint. Mac’s has twice sent me ones that look worse than the delaminating ones I’m trying to replace. They must be a direct shipment sort of business that never looks at the product they sell. Customer service was slow and half-assed. It’s hard to get them to pick up a phone, and email replies come a week later and from someone different than I emailed originally. It took them 8 days to ship the SECOND set of replacements AFTER they received the damaged ones I sent back. The new ones showed up barely together, and pretty shoddy. Hardly any glue, no stitching whatsoever, stains on the “chrome” trim that won’t come off, etc... What a crock of horseshit. Anyone have a better place for this stuff?

Have you looked into Dearborn Classics?

I’m gonna have to. Mac’s seems to suck at what they do. This has been my first and last time dealing with them.

My project is a Camaro so I have no first hand experience with them but I know somebody with a Galaxie who got some parts from Dearborn Classics that they were fine with.

I just looked them up. They’re the same company as Mac’s. The Eckler Auto Group. No thanks.

Edit: Kinja’d!!! Was not trying to post the exact same answer twice.

Ah, that sucks. I have ordered from Rick’s Camaro, which is another Eckler company, without issue but they probably would use the same sucky supplier across their company and you’d end up with the same crappy door panels.

Really? The guys on my Torino forum like them better for the hard to find parts also, did you check CJ pony parts?

I’ve seen reasonable looking Falcon door cards on eBay, I think. I definitely recall some mention of the ones at Dearborn not being up to snuff, which was why I indulged curiosity that way. I’m a long way from needing anything interior with my 63, and the closest I got to either Dearborn or Mac’s thus far was floorboards. I was weighing the two against one another when suddenly the one that had them cheaper shot up in price - right when they merged. I bought Mustang ones from CJ Pony instead, since I’m not being a stickler for accuracy on the Ranchero at all...

It seems they all use the same manufacturer. Distinctive Industries. I’ll assume whoever is in charge of QA quit, and no one is currently doing it, lol. At least MAC's was thirty bucks cheaper, which will now be spent having an upholsterer fix their crap.
